Beppe Giacobbe, born in Milan in 1953, is an illustrator and longtime contributor to Corriere della Sera, trained at the Accademia di Brera and in New York. A large red book stands on a cream ground, casting a pale shadow. It is thick and upright - a serious volume, the kind that might contain an entire legal code. On the cover, in white: DIRITTO. Upside down. Mirrored. Diritto - law, rights, straight. The word for what is correct and just, printed incorrectly on the book that contains it. That's the whole image. Giacobbe needed one word and one reversal. First published in 2014 in La Lettura, the cultural supplement of the Corriere della Sera, and shown at Distrazioni (Bonvini 1909, 2024). Fine art print on 308gsm Hahnemühle cotton. Image 30 × 25 cm on 50 × 35 cm sheet. Edition of fifty, with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist. Exclusive to Australia.
