If you aren't familiar with the amazing properties of wool yet, once you try good wool, you will understand and prefer it over synthetics. Wool is so much better. Warm boiled wool on the outside, soft organic grey jersey knit wool inside of the hood. A wetness spillage? No problem. Just wipe it off promptly. Wool stays fresh and doesn't need to be washed much at all because of the nature of wool. Boiled wool is much more substantial and weighs more than thin wool. Boiled wool contains a lot of wool. Icy-cold car seat? Baby's body cannot heat up the plastic no matter how many blankets you put over baby. The coldness in the car seat chills the baby. Bringing the car seat inside the home or store to keep the seat from freezing is not always practical. With boiled wool the child, you add a flat layer of warmth to the body which keeps baby's back from getting the warmth sucked out of it into the cold seat. This keeps baby's body warmth where it needs to be- instead of baby's body trying to warm up the foam and plastic seat, which it just cannot do. Yes, you can put another coat over it, too because it is flat, not puffy. Boiled wool works well in a car seat. The zipper makes it easy to put on and take off and there are no buttons to worry about. Car seat friendly.
