Rather than this blind reliance, understanding exactly what are the variables that control the strength and stiffness of both bare deck and concrete filled diaphragms can make you a better, more knowledgeable designer. This presentation, based upon the ANSI/SDI AISI S310 North American Standard for the Design of Profiled Steel Diaphragm Panels will be long on understanding the engineering mechanics and short on numbers and high-level theory.
