The TransPac is Dive Rite’s flagship harness, originally designed by CEO Lamar Hires for his early expeditions to the remote karst regions of Japan. He needed a rugged harness system that would allow him to utilize backmounted doubles and a single tank, as well as sidemount in some of the smaller passages. The TransPac is not only an incredibly versatile diving tool, it was also designed to be comfortable enough to hike tanks through thousands of feet of dry cave passage.
