Max Cameron The forces sowing division and polarization are growing in Canada, threatening to tear apart our social, political and economic fabric. Rising inequality, regional discontent, and growing distrust of democratic institutions are fuelling populist rhetoric and the spread of misinformation, especially on social media, while deepening divisions within our political landscape. In the face of existential threats not seen since the time of Confederation, in Divided We Fall Max Cameron looks at the forces, both internal and external, that threaten Canadian unity. Based on his experience working with Canadians of diverse points of view who are considering a role in public life, he offers proposals for how Canadians can rebuild civil discourse based on our common citizenship, and restore a shared sense of purpose at a vital point in our country’s history.
