It keeps your hands and mind busy, and if you make a mistake, it’s easy to correct. Embroidery came into my life when I needed it most, right at the beginning of the lockdown. When my anxiety was sky high, I found a craft that could distract from the never-ending news cycle when nothing else could. I know ‘mindful’ is a word thrown around a lot, but as someone who has never managed to meditate, I know that embroidery can provide the respite so many desperately need. Please note scissors and the display stand are not included. Calico is natural untreated cotton, which means it has a lovely natural cream and speckled look to it.
