What happens when the life you've built no longer feels like the life meant for you? When you feel drawn towards something wilder and more alive? Anna McCracken felt a calling to not just change her life, but to run away with the wolves. Clearly, this was a terrifying prospect, so she ignored it. Yet despite her best efforts, the pull only grew stronger, until she took to the road. From the remote deserts of Australia to the bustle of New York City, Do Wildness is about what happens when we start to notice what modern life so often trains us to overlook: birdsong, moon cycles, seasons and soils, rhythms and relationships. When instead of rushing forward, we remember the old stories didn’t teach us about perfection, but participation. With 10 practices to help us reconnect with the natural world and our place within it, Do Wildness offers a way back to aliveness, beauty and belonging.
