This ring notebook features an illustrated pattern of "Doctor's Flowers," a collection of plants named by Tomitaro Makino, who has ties to Kochi Prefecture. The inner pages are printed with dots and illustrations in pink ink. You can use it as a diary or idea book, or just paste your favorite clippings in it for fun. The color of the rings is chosen to match the illustration on the cover. It was started by a printing company in Kochi where the first store opened in 2009 to convey the fun and possibilities of paper and printing to as many customers as possible. I stumbled upon it during our visit in 2017 and fell immediately in love. In 2012 a store was opened in Kichijoji, Tokyo, (the absolute cutest neighborhood in Tokyo) where the store offers a variety of paper-related services, including the sale of original products and custom printing. Each store is like a stationery lovers dream and designed in a whimsical fantastical way. The design of the Pink Moon Goods is very much inspired by my visits to Paper Message. Artist Okubojunko began working as a freelance illustrator and designer in her teens. Since 2010, she has been involved in planning, illustrating and designing paper goods for Paper Message. She is also involved in a variety of other activities, including live events with musicians, animation production, picture books and venue decorations.
