This painting depicts a single, colorful dog. With my dog collection, I am exploring texture and different media, mark-making and color, along with the expressive personality of in dividual dogs. Acrylic paint and black sharpie marker on canvas, dimensions: 18 inches by 24 inches, 45.72 cm x 60.96 cm. My current dog collection was inspired by my lifelong love for dogs and my involvement with various dog rescues over the years. I grew up in the countryside, surrounded by pet dogs and also strays, that were dumped in the forest. My Aunt was very involved in dog shows and as a child, I helped her show her Poodles and German Shepherds. In college, I began volunteering with dog rescues and am still involved now, and have fostered dogs (Shiba Inu). I currently have four dogs: a previously feral Chow Chow mix, a German Shepherd mix, a Great Pyrenees mix, and a Chihuahua. With my current dog collection, I am exploring texture and different media, mark-making and color, along with the expressive personality of individual dogs. *Note: I leave the sides (edges) of my paintings unfinished, I also do not varnish my paintings (I avoid adding any unnecessary chemicals to any of my work). Finally, I do not have any hanging wire on the back of the paintings so that when purchased, the owner can easily have them framed or display them the way they prefer. Show more
