Securing your tag: Our product is built to the highest standards with marine grade brass, and quality-tested. Our U-shackles must be sufficiently tightened to ensure they do not come loose. A U-shackle is a piece of maritime equipment, usually tightened by way of a specialised shackle key, so for many people finger tight will not be sufficient to tighten the u-shackle fully. When you receive your tag, recommend using some leverage - pliers work well - to ensure these things do not come loose. If you take this small measure your tag will remain on your dog so you can enjoy this item for years to come :) Caring for your tag: Brass is an extremely durable material and won’t ‘rust’ like traditional metals. But like all alloys, it will oxidise over time. As the Copper in Brass oxidises it exudes a beautiful green pigment and, if not cared for, this can temporarily mark your dog's coat! Oxidisation is a natural part of the ageing process and this will not cause any harm to your product or your animal. But particularly for those more salty customers with white dogs, apply some mineral oil to your tag to slow the ageing process, keep your tag’s shine in tact and your dog’s coat clear.
