When crafted from the finest Italian pewter, the often overlooked pedestrian items inherent to our daily ablutions — soap dishes and dispensers, toothbrush cups, vanity mirrors and tissue box holders — are transformed into beautiful pieces that add elegant finishing touches to a bath or vanity. 16" L x 7.7" W Match was founded by RISD graduate David Reiss in 1995. He collaborates closely with Italian artisans to produce designs in classic European forms from the 14th through 19th centuries; many are cast from molds made from original antiques. Pewter has an odd warmth in appearance that allows it to seamlessly meld with traditional and modern table settings alike. Each piece is made with a lead free alloy of tin, copper and antimony that is FDA approved and food safe. Pewter tarnishes very slowly and requires almost no maintenance. To clean your pewter hand wash in warm water with a liquid dish soap. Be sure to dry the pewter completely, as water allowed to dry on pewter may cause spots. Any spots that appear can be easily removed by polishing or by gently rubbing the area in small circular motions with very fine "0000" steel wool. The Match Pewter Bath collection is available here.
