Domaine de Triennes Rosé is a Cinsault-dominant Provence rosé wine bottled at approximately 12.5% ABV in a standard 750ml bottle. Backed by a 91-point score from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2022 vintage), this pale pink wine draws its distinction from a remarkable founding story — the partnership of two of Burgundy's most celebrated winemakers working together in the south of France.Quick Facts: ABV: 12.5% | Origin: Var, Provence, France (IGP Méditerranée) | Style: Dry Rosé | Producer: Domaine de TriennesProduction & HeritageDomaine de Triennes was established when Jacques Seysses of Domaine Dujac and Aubert de Villaine of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti joined forces with Parisian businessman Michel Macaux to acquire a 46-hectare Mediterranean estate in the Var department of Provence. The rosé is built on a Cinsault-led blend that also includes Syrah, Grenache, and Merlot — a composition that leans more heavily on Cinsault than most Provence rosés. Grapes are harvested at night to ensure they arrive at the winery cool, then given a few hours of skin contact before pressing and a slow, low-temperature fermentation to preserve delicate aromatics.Tasting NotesAroma: The nose opens with fresh wild strawberry and watermelon before moving into white flowers and a faint vanilla undertone. Citrus peel and pomegranate weave through the bouquet, adding brightness and complexity.Taste: On the palate, the entry is juicy and immediate — red berry fruit, lemon zest, and a thread of ripe strawberry carry through the mid-palate. The texture is delicate and sappy rather than heavy, with crisp acidity keeping everything taut. Subtle mineral and iodine notes emerge toward the peak, giving the wine a savory dimension uncommon at this level.Finish: The finish is medium in length, mouthwatering and penetrating with lingering mineral acidity. A trace of wild strawberry persists as the citrus freshness slowly fades. How to Drink Triennes RoséServe well chilled, around 45–50°F, to let the delicate aromatics unfold without losing the wine's crisp backbone. This rosé is built for warm-weather drinking on its own but also works beautifully in cocktails. A Provence Spritz — combining the wine with elderflower liqueur and sparkling water — plays off its floral and berry character. A Frosé benefits from the Cinsault's natural strawberry fruit, producing a cleaner frozen drink than heavier rosés. A classic French 75 Rosé variation, substituting this for Champagne, adds a softer, more berry-driven finish to the cocktail.Best For Summer entertaining and outdoor dining where a refreshing, food-friendly wine is essential Gifting a wine lover who appreciates Burgundian pedigree in an unexpected category Building a Provence rosé tasting alongside other regional benchmarks Pairing with Mediterranean cuisine at dinner parties Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat does Triennes Rosé taste like?
