The Donnemara is a signature Donegal Carpets design which was produced in many colorways over the years. Like all of C.F.A. Voysey's designs, nature is a point of inspiration, in t his instance roses and tulips; but botanical accuracy is not as important as the creation of pattern, rhythm and overall composition. The Donnemara, along with the Wykehamist and Magnolia, shows Voysey's interest in contrasting the scale of border elements with those of the field, creating a wonderful sense of dynamism in the overall design.
