Poll Dorset wool is 'down-type' wool which is soft and fluffy with a bit of spring; this makes it hard wearing and is great for socks, mittens and hats but also good for sweaters, blankets and much more. Staple length is around 4 inches with a fibre width of around 28-34 microns. It is generally free of Kemp which makes it particularly great for natural dyeing producing vibrant colours.
