This original one-sheet poster was produced for the 1944 theatrical release of the classic starring Fred MacMurray, Barbara Stanwyck, and Edward G. Robinson. The film was nominated for 7 Academy Awards and was a great hit upon release. This stunning US One-Sheet poster comes with remarkable provenance as it was the femme-fatale Phyllis Dietrichson herself Barbara Stanwyck's own personal copy of the poster. The poster is accompanied by a 2010 Bonhams & Butterfields letter signed by Margaret Barrett, then Director of Entertainment Memorabilia. The letter confirms that the poster was consigned directly by the Estate of Larry Kleno, Barbara Stanwyck's longtime publicist, and records the estate executor's statement that Stanwyck personally gifted the poster to Kleno. This exceptional provenance provides a remarkable direct connection between the poster and one of Hollywood's most iconic and celebrated actresses.
