This piece is about stopping to doubt yourself. By doing so, you can finally realize your full potential. To represent this growth, I decided to work on a coyote hip bone. The hip bone is the mind-body connection, where emotional tension, fear, and insecurity are often stored physically as tightness in the muscles surrounding the hip joint. Indeed, when you experience chronic self-doubt, anxiety, or fear of failure, the psoas muscle often contracts, causing the hips to become tight and inflexible. By creating a hip bone in full bloom, I wanted to celebrate that release, this liberation and increased confidence.
