Yves Delorme uses hand-selected mature white European goose down from free-range geese. The down is gathered during the molting season when it has reached its full size and potential to hold air. The loose down is not plucked, but rather collected as the geese are molting. Care Points: Duvets, pillows, and featherbeds should be fluffed daily to maintain the loft and fullness of the down. If stained, they can be spot cleaned with a damp cloth and mild soap. For a complete cleaning, laundering is recommended over dry cleaning, as it rejuvenates the lofting quality of down, making duvets and pillows fuller, fluffier, and fresher smelling. Use a front-loading, extra-capacity washer with a mild detergent and warm water—avoid top-loading machines, as their agitation can damage the delicate cotton cover. Down items may be tumble dried on medium heat, and it's important to ensure they are thoroughly dry before returning them to the bed or storing. Always store down bedding in cotton bags, never plastic, and use pillow protectors on down pillows, washing the protectors regularly.
