Dracaena reflexa var. Angustifolia is part of the Asparagaceae family and its native range is the W. Indian Ocean. This plant produces leaves from the crown and at branch ends, leaf blades are deep green with narrow reddish margins. This Dracaena can reach up to 6ft in height. Due to the growth habit of the plant, lower leaves fall off as the plant ages, leaving distinctive diamond-shaped leaf scars on the stems. Genus name comes from the Greek ‘drakaina’ meaning dragon. Specific epithet comes from the Latin reflectere, to bend back, this is in reference to the leaves. Light: Bright indirect light, meaning the plant sees the sun for 0-4 hours per day - this could be through trees or a translucent curtain, it’s important for the plant to see the sky in order to thrive. Filtered light would also be fine for this plant.Potting mix: A well draining mix composed of coco coir, vermiculite or gravel and horticultural sand.
