Dragon carrot is a refined purple carrot bred by Dr. John Navazio, a plant breeder and senior scientist for the Organic Seed Alliance. Bred from a Chantenay-type carrrot, Dragon is notable for having both the unique coloration of some of the newer varieties and the classic, sweet carrot flavor we've all come to know and love. This rare carrot is a reliable and consistent producer of colorful, tapered roots reaching up to 7 inches in length and 2 inches wide at the shoulders. Vibrant purple skins enclose crisp orange centers with a lighter yellow core. The thin purple skins do not require peeling.
