One of the most important foundational principles of painting - but don't worry, we are not talking about specifically using a pencil to highly render an image. In this case the wo rd "drawing" means how we create and arrange the important shapes which make up our composition. Whatever our subject; whether we draw out with a pencil first or draw with a brush, or anything else for that matter; we are still drawing, because in order to create our subject we need to have a series of simple yet accurate shapes. These shapes need to have 3 major considerations: proportions, tilt/angle, and alignment.
