I believe the Church has two callings... or one with two aspects. It is to be pastoral and prophetic. But, really, the prophetic serves the pastoral. That is, pastorally, it is to care for all people. Prophetically, it speaks truth to power, holding the powers and authorities accountable to fulfill their functions: to care for all people.
