A member of the petolaris c omplex of Australian sundews D. lanata is distinguished by its mint green elongated petioles which are covered in white hairs and terminated by a spectacular pin-cushion dewy trap. The hairs on the petioles are known to both protect the plant from intense sunlight and to catch fog and dew during dry spells. This species requires consistent bright light, warm temperatures, and high humidity.
