Incentive Create a poster using colours to show floods and droughts are opposites. -Line-Shape-Space-Colour-Texture Supplies Art paper A4 paper Thin and thick black marker Crayons Paint Scissors Craft Glue Lesson 1 Use thin black marker to spell out the words “Flood” and “Drought” on the A4 piece of paper using bubble writing. 2 Colour the word ‘Flood’ using blue, green and grey/black crayons. Colour the word ‘Drought’ using red, orange and yellow crayons. 3 Using the thick black marker draw an outline around each word and colour in with the black marker. 4 Cut each word out leaving a slight black border and set aside. 5 Halve art paper and on one side put dabs of red and yellow paint towards the top, and dabs of light and dark blue paint towards the bottom. 6 Fold paper so that blank half is touching the paint. Use palms of hands to spread the paint all over the paper. 7 Open paper and paint should now have covered the whole sheet. 8 Glue the word ‘Drought’ over the warm colours and the word ‘Flood’ over the cool colours. Display around the room with information about droughts and floods.
