Wine Guardian DS050 Duct Split System Wine Cellar Cooling Unit
SENTINEL SERIES · Ducted Split System DS050 Ducted Split Wine Cellar Cooling Unit The DS050 is a two-piece wine cellar cooling system with a separate ductable fan-coil and remote c ondenser, rated at 6,300 BTU/h and built to hold a wine room at 55°F to 58°F. Because the evaporator and condenser are two separate units, the DS050 is Wine Guardian's most flexible system to install: the condenser can be placed where venting is easy while the fan-coil ducts cool air into the cellar. It is sized for mid-sized residential and commercial wine rooms of roughly 650 to 3000 cubic feet, and suits mechanical rooms with little space, hard-to-exhaust condenser air, or long duct runs. Every system ships with a coated evaporator coil, a Wireless2Base remote interface controller, aluminum chassis with UL-rated composite panels, and Wine Guardian fail-safe protection. With the optional serving-temperature control the system can cool as low as 45°F. As an authorized Wine Guardian dealer, we list the DS050 with full manufacturer specifications. Installation requires a qualified contractor; final sizing should be confirmed with the Wine Guardian cooling calculator. 6,300 BTU/h Cooling Capacity 650–3000 ft³ Cellar Volume 2-piece Split System 115/1/60 Electrical Download the Wine Guardian Ducted Split Product Brochure See It in Action See the DS050 in Action Watch How It Works See how a Wine Guardian split system separates the evaporator and condenser so the cellar stays quiet while heat is rejected elsewhere. Split evaporator and condenser for quiet cellar operation Flexible placement of the condensing section Precision temperature control with optional humidification Questions about fit? Call our specialists at (800) 260-1712. Fit CheckIs the DS050 Right for Your Cellar? ✓ Ideal For Mid-sized wine cellars, roughly 650 to 3000 cubic feet Cellars where a self-contained unit will not fit or venting is restricted Installs needing the condenser in a different location than the fan-coil (long duct runs, tight mechanical rooms) ✕ Consider Another Model If You have room for a self-contained ducted unit (simpler single-box install) Running separate refrigerant lines between two units is not feasible Key Features Feature What it means for your cellar Two-piece split design Separate ductable fan-coil and remote condenser install in different locations, so the system fits where a single-box unit cannot. Perfectly paired condenser The outdoor-rated condensing unit is engineered and manufactured by Wine Guardian to work specifically with the fan-coil for reliable matched performance. Most flexible installation Handles mechanical rooms with little space, hard-to-exhaust condenser air, and long duct runs better than any other Wine Guardian configuration. Coated evaporator coil Protects the evaporator side against corrosion for durable performance over a long service life. Wireless2Base remote interface controller Monitors temperature and humidity continuously and corrects conditions before your wine is affected; place it in a kitchen, den, or elsewhere. Precision control (±1°F / ±10% RH) Holds 55°F to 58°F, with optional serving-temperature control down to 45°F and an optional humidifier for 55% to 65% relative humidity. Aluminum chassis with UL-rated composite panels UL-rated composite panels are roughly five times stronger than before and resist dents and scratches during shipping and installation. Field-serviceable, multi-panel access Captive quarter-turn fasteners let panels, duct collars, and grille remove in a couple of turns, so service happens on-site without returning the unit to the factory. Built-in protection: remote air sensing checks conditions continuously and adjusts before temperature or humidity drift can affect the collection. How Quiet Is It Why a Ducted Split Keeps the Cellar Quiet Wine Guardian does not publish a single decibel rating for ducted split systems. The quiet comes from the split architecture: the noisy condenser sits outside or in a remote mechanical space, and the fan-coil ducts cool air into the cellar, so no compressor runs inside the wine room. The condenser installs away from the cellar, even outdoors, removing its noise from the space. The fan-coil mounts outside the wine room and connects through insulated ductwork. Flexible ductwork absorbs air noise, and sound drops further with each duct turn. Net capacity changes with ambient temperature; the full table is in the specifications above. Confirm final sizing with the Wine Guardian cooling calculator and a qualified contractor. What is a ducted split system, and how is it different from a self-contained unit?A ducted split separates the evaporator (fan-coil) and the condenser into two units installed in different locations and connected by refrigerant lines. A self-contained unit houses everything in one box. The split is the most flexible option when venting is restricted, space is tight, or duct runs are long.Does the DS050 need a licensed contractor to install?Yes. A ducted split involves refrigerant line connections between the two units, so it must be installed by a licensed HVAC contractor. This also keeps the manufacturer warranty valid. Can the DS050 control humidity and serving temperature? The system controls temperature precisely and displays humidity. Add an integrated or freestanding Wine Guardian humidifier to reach 55% to 65% relative humidity, and the optional serving-temperature control lets it cool as low as 45°F.Is the DS050 covered by a warranty?Yes. Wine Guardian provides a standard warranty of 2 years parts, 1 year labor (standard), with a Platinum option that extends to Platinum option: 2 years parts and labor plus a 3-year extension on the compressor, evaporator coil, and condenser coil. Warranty service is handled through the manufacturer. Find the Right Ducted Split System Compare the full Ducted Split range or talk to us about sizing the DS050. This guidance is general and is meant to help narrow the selection; final sizing, installation design, and electrical requirements should be confirmed with Wine Guardian documentation and a licensed HVAC professional.
