The Dufferin Externa is a Canadian-designed one-piece maple cue offered in 48in, 54in and 57in. The shorter lengths are the reason the model exists: they cover shots in tight spots where a full-length cue cannot be drawn back, and they suit shorter players who cannot control a 57in cue properly. It carries a 9mm Elkmaster tip, a soft leather tip that compresses on contact and holds chalk — the properties needed to apply side and screw. The finish is Dufferin's protective high gloss with a scratch-resistant UV coating, which keeps the cue looking right through years of handling and rack storage rather than dulling and marking.
