Bushwalking Grade 3 Medium Disrance: 15kms over 2 days Leader: Paul Schirmer Phone: 0412404770 Participant numbers: 8 Final booking date: Wed 19th 8pm Because we will be able to sleep in the hut there is a $10.00 per person. There is a short section of the track that has been covered with some fairly large crushed rock, up to 50mm, and can be difficult to walk on. Day one. Starting at Watchbed Creek we will walk up the Big River Fire Trial to Edmonsons Hut and have some lunch. After walking to Johnston Hut and dropping our packs we will walk to a waterfall on Hollonds Creek. This is cross country but fairly easy. If it’s hot enough and there’s enough water, we may even have a swim. After that a relaxing time at Johnston Hut. Day two: We’ll go to Mt Nelse to enjoy the views from there. On our return we’ll drop in to see the Brennie Fitzgerald plaque off Heathy Spur and then head back to the cars. No bushwalk is complete without a coffee/tea and cake at a bakery on the way home. This is an out and back walk so no need for a car shuffle.
