Built in Pasadena, California for the family of David B. Gamble, heir to the Procter & Gamble soap fortune, the Gamble House has been called "the ultimate bungalow" and an Arts and Crafts masterpiece. After almost a century of exposure to sun, wind and rain, the home was in serious need of restoration. In response, $3.5 million was raised, supporting six years of research and planning, and finally more than a year of painstaking hands-on work.
