"Dwarfed by Radiance" opens onto a threshold. A lone figure stands paused in the mouth of a vast cathedral doorway, caught inside a single fall of slanting daylight. The scale is d eliberate, stone and shadow rising far beyond the human form, a single hard light dropping from somewhere above as if the building itself were breathing.No paint. No print. No ink. The image is scratched into the surface of the acrylic glass, formed through controlled scratches rather than addition, the shape of the doorway, the fall of light and the small figure caught within it all built by what has been taken away rather than what has been laid down.The image is always present, seen from any angle, in any room, with or without direct light. Light does not create it. Light sharpens it. Under a direct source the scratches catch and reflect, the contrast deepens, and the piece moves between clarity and quiet as you shift position, without ever losing the figure at its center.From a distance the work reads as a single dramatic scene, worn stone, a hard shaft of light, a small human silhouette held inside it.
