DYGL finally made their album debut with Say Goodbye to Memory Den, the band’s first LP since forming in 2012.Mostly comprised of members from the indie pop outfit Ykiki Beat, DYGL (pronounced Day Glo) are shaping up to be Japan’s next top indie rock export.Produced by The Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. and recorded in NYC, Say Goodbye to Memory Den sports 14-tracks of top rate indie tunes catered towards the international music market. Upon release the album debuted at #26 on the Oricon daily album chart.Review:人們都在談論BNO,說到英國(海外),就想起DGYL。DYGL來自日本東京都,屬典型Guitar Band架構,主唱、結他、低音結他和鼓的四人陣容,第—次聽他們時感覺已像由東京飛到倫敦般,歌曲起承轉合,都很濃Britpop黃金年代的味道,連主音歌手秋山信樹的英文咬字也很西方,並不帶半點日本人常見不清不楚的英文口音,至於流暢爽勁的曲調,橫跨The Jam、Blur、The Libertines等不同年代英國Guitar Band代表性名字,簡單而言,DGYL就是很「英」。《Say Goodbye To Memory Den》是DYGL於2017年發表的首張專集,早前被黑膠化。這碟交由The Strokes結他手Albert Hammond Jr.和Gus Oberg聯合監製,開場曲《Come Together》已先聲奪人,緊湊無比的節奏充滿Post-Punk的張力,單曲《Let It Sway》那醒神聲音,是一朝起床吃All Day Breakfast的良伴,另一單曲《Let It Out》的一臉自信,則有如Oasis上身,還有《Thousand Miles》的和諧、《Boys On TV》的舞動、《Feel The Way》的激昂,盡情發放結他爆破能量。雖然不是生於英國,卻布滿英國音樂的情意結,DYGL這隊英國(海外)風格的樂隊,比很多土生土長的英國Band更富英倫浪漫情感。
