The Dynamic Discs Maverick in Fluid plastic is a small rimmed fairway driver built for tunnel shots and tight lines through the woods. Fluid is Dynamic Discs' grippy, flexible blend, the kind that stays soft even when the temperature drops. It is the understable control driver I reach for once a full speed distance driver starts to feel like overkill. Flight Numbers: 7 / 4 / -1 / 2 Fluid plastic has real flex to it, more than Lucid, and that flex keeps the grip honest in cold or wet rounds. It will not feel as premium in the hand as Lucid, but it will not slip either. It beats in a little faster than the harder blends, which only makes this fairway driver more understable and more turnover friendly over time. Release it flat and it holds a long, glidey S down the fairway, which is where most of the distance comes from. On a hyzer it flips to flat and rides out with barely any finish, and on anhyzer it will turn over into a full roller. It is a natural pick for a slower arm learning to get 250 feet out cleanly, and forehand throwers get a driver that flips predictably instead of fighting them. Power throwers use it as a turnover specialty for tailwind holes and sweeping woods lines. New to the game? The Lucid Maverick is the same mold in a stiffer, longer lasting plastic once you know you want to keep it. Need a midrange with the same forgiving turn? The Axiom Neutron Hex pairs well with it.
