996119 E-Class: The Beauty of Wearable Art Kingdom with Guido Adam Beginner to Intermediate Guido Adam – The beauty of the wearable art kingdom including pendant, heart, dichroic, mushroom, flower, jellyfish, fuming, opal inclusion, dot stacking, tube implosions, wigwags This class will cover a host of techniques to add to your glass repertoire. We are delighted to announce our first EXCLUSIVE guest lampworking artist Guido Adam. He creates magical borosilicate objects which push the technical boundaries of color and form through the medium of wearable art. Adam has been working in soft and hard glass since 2002 using traditional techniques derived from his studies in Murano, the States and Japan. Guido Adam will be working with hard glass and he will concentrate on translatable techniques utilizing two forms: Namely the heart and the jellyfish. Adam will introduce us to adding opals to our glass creations, advanced techniques with silver and gold fuming, use of the vin pin to create detailed implosions and compressions. Moving on to advanced techniques he will show us how to make tube implosions and begin to work our pendants hollow with dot fuming. Class will begin with the ALL IMPORTANT borosilicate color tech talk, how to prepare hexagon screws for mounting your wearable art and prepping your opals ready for inclusion in your work. In this class we aim to further and enrich your skills in a fun and easy manner by teaching you a combination of techniques which you can turn into your own personal projects as we progress. Two thirds of the time we will be looking at sculptural wearable art techniques, but we will also spend demonstration time with the comfort of a mandrel. Class includes one complimentary one on one consultation with ZGS founder Dr Julie Anne Denton to help you with the tricky bits, whilst receiving personal help and encouragement with the projects. It is advisable to use this consultation as our participants find the them invaluable. Visual technical handouts are also provided which help you remember the steps for all the demonstrations at a glance. Please remember, what we are creating is tricky and takes A LOT of practice, logic, patience and an inquiring mind. This E-course is a stand-alone course which is complimented by both Guido 2:Beauty of the space chaos marble kingdom& Guido 3: Beauty of the animal kingdom course channels. Our Guido Adam 1course will push your skill level and give you confidence in your own glass making abilities, whilst empowering you to own your creativity.
