With the majority of target butts imported from overseas, the cost in Australia of foam targets has close to doubled in the last 10 years. As a result of this, many clubs have taken to either importing their own inferior targets or building their own out of corflute or neoprene scraps. However, the maintenance of these targets can take up a considerable amount of time and the waste product often leaves quite a mess. Unlike other layered foam targets, these also incude quality ratchet straps, and not a single use poly strap.Many clubs throughout Europe have been using layered foam for years, but for some reason, we have been behind the times. The core benefit of these targets, aside from the price. Is that they are super easy to repair, simply unscrew the top of the target butt, remove the top layer and the damaged middle layer and then re-tighten. You can then do this again with the bottom layer to get the most use out of your target. These layered foam targets are manufactured from recycled foam sheets. The thickness, colour and density of this foam varies. We have no control of this as it is dependant entirely on foam availability. It is because of this that a foam target of this size can be sold at an artificially low price.These are very good targets for the price. But please balance your expectations with the type of equipment being used.High performance bows with "X10" style arrows will likely require extra packing or a target backstop.
