Cucurbita argyrosperma. Grown for the tasty and nutritious silver colored seeds. Seeds are easily extracted from the silver edged hull. Seeds are roasted for pepitas or used in pip ián sauce. The fruit flesh was traditionally used as animal fodder, but is not particularly tasty for humans. The beautiful round, flattened fruits are white with prominent green mottled stripes.
