This is a Segmented Base circular table, designed by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller in 1964. The Segmented Base was the Eames Office's most versatile table system, built f rom separate columns, prongs, feet and crossbeams that could be configured to suit dining tables, worktables and conference tables of almost any size or shape. This example carries a blue laminate top made from four joining segments, a genuine feature of the design rather than a cosmetic detail, meeting at a central point on a white painted steel base. The table is in very good condition, with only minor wear consistent with its age. Dimensions: 72cm high, 140cm diameter.
