How to Brew the Earl Grey Tea Mini Sample Box As a general guide, use freshly drawn water just off the boil, around 95°C, and one heaped teaspoon of loose leaf tea per cup. Steep for 3 to 4 minutes, then adjust according to the blend and your preference. The Breakfast Earl Grey can take a slightly longer infusion of 4 to 5 minutes for a fuller cup. Evening Earl Grey Decaffeinated also performs well around the 4-minute mark. Most of the blends are especially enjoyable without milk so the bergamot can come through clearly, although the Breakfast and Baroness styles can also take a small splash if preferred.
