The Rookery in the heart of downtown Chicago was one of the first early commercial skyscrapers. Designed by the firm of Burnham and Root, it has influences of Moorish, Byzantine, V enetian and Romanesque motifs. Frank Lloyd Wright had an office there in 1898 - 1899 and received a commission to redesign the lobby in 1905.
