This earthy, textured piece sees layered marks of soft white, coffee and mocha tones, carefully built with linear markings, uniformed and etched into the painted surface. The chalk y marks give the painting a beautiful texture, while the soft mixture of brown layers preserve a gentle, rich base. This piece exudes warmth and it's title 'Earth' derives from the earthy tones and natural textures, and also how artist Toni Thornton really used her hands and the pigments and became grounded to the piece throughout the painting process.
