A tactile meditation on groundedness and transcendence, this piece was created with foraged earth materials—locally gathered pigments, clay, and minerals—applied in layers to evoke a richly textured surface. Though composed entirely from elements of the land, the result feels celestial, reminiscent of a lunar terrain or imagined planetary landscape. In this work, the boundary between lands blurs. What was meant to be rooted reveals itself as otherworldly, acting as a reminder that even the most grounded among us are allowed moments of cosmic dreaming.
