Why they are easier than rockwool The cubes hold a fixed pH and EC that stays put even after watering, so there is no conditioning step and nothing to get wrong before you start. They absorb water fast and hold a stable water-to-air ratio, which is the balance cuttings need to root rather than rot. There is also a base fertiliser built in, enough to feed a seedling or cutting for its first two to three weeks — so nothing else is needed until you pot on.
