How the Ebac CD425-D Dehumidifier Works Air is drawn into the unit by a high-capacity fan. The air passes over a cold evaporator coil. Moisture condenses from the air as it cools. Condensed water collects in the condensate tray. Water drains through a gravity drain or internal pump. The air passes through the condenser coil where it is reheated. The air returns to the room slightly warmer and significantly drier. The automatic defrost system prevents frost buildup. The humidistat cycles the system on and off to maintain the selected humidity level.
