Echinodorus argentinensis is a large Amazon sword plant with broad green leaves that rise from a central crown into a full, upright rosette. It is a big plant that wants room to spread, so it works best as a background feature or a standalone centrepiece in a larger tank.Give it space and a nutritious substrate and it grows steadily, sending up fresh leaves that can reach the water surface. Keep it looking its best by trimming away older outer leaves so the newer growth can come through.
