A moderately sized Amazon sword plant for planted tanks and aquascaping! Echinodorus ‘Big Bear’ features a mixed color palette ranging from emerald green to crimson tones. Its colors change depending on the environment in which it is grown, making it an intriguing aquarium plant to cultivate. When grown above water, its leaves are rounded, more rigid, and primarily green. When grown submerged in aquarium conditions, the leaves soften, move with the flow, and develop deep burgundy tones. Like others in the family, this is considered an easy aquatic plant. It works well for low tech tanks or low light aquariums and will be resilient in most conditions. Sword plants are heavy root feeders and will benefit from nutritious aquasoil and root tab supplementation. To boost growth and form, provide moderate lighting and CO2 injection.
