Items included in this package Echo Full Spey Rod Echo Full Spey two handed rods are the most advanced and lightest weight Spey rods Echo has ever built. The 13'0" length is a very versatile length for a steelhead rod that will allow you to fish big and small rivers with both Skagit and Scandi lines. These rods are easy casting rods that are very worthy of the old Pepsi challenge with rods that are twice the price of the Echo Full Spey. The Echo Full Spey is a medium fast action rod that has a ton of "feel" and soul when casting. These rods produce high line speed, tight loops and exceptional accuracy in an easy casting package. The 6130-4 6wt is the summer steelhead rod. The 6wt would also be great for pink salmon! For an all around steelhead rod that would be at home on any summer or winter steelhead river go with the 7130-4 7wt. The 8130-4 8wt is a great winter steelhead rod and a great "light" salmon rod for silvers and chum. Not the best rod for king salmon, but it can handle some pretty big fish. Scientific Anglers Skagit Floating Head We've paired our Echo Full Spey outfits with the Scientific Anglers Skagit head that matches perfectly on the Full Spey's. These heads are not like the Skagit heads a lot of us grew up with. These are much more pleasant to cast than the Skagit heads of the past. Advancements in the taper design has made a big difference in the way these feel when casting, and they will cast a wide variety of different weight and length of sink tips much better than ever before. More Info. Scientific anglers Absolute Flat Mono shooting Line Scientific Anglers Absolute Flat Mono Shooting Line is the best mono shooting on the market in our opinion. It has almost zero stretch unlike other mono lines out there, very minimal memory, and shoots like crazy! Because it is flat, it is actually surprisingly easy to handle. We highly recommend giving SA's Absolute Flat Mono Shooting line a try if you like mono running lines. More info. RIO MOW Tips To complete your line setup, we're including two RIO MOW Tips. One sink-tip is a 5' floating/5' sinking and is perfect for moderate to shallow water. The second tip is a 10 foot full sinking tip, in either Light, Medium, or Heavy depending on what outfit you choose. The 10 foot tip is used for moderate to deep water. We've been using it for years on everything from trout to billfish and haven't run into a single inconsistency. We use Bimini loop Knot then sealed with glue to connect your backing to your running line. We generally choose a backing color that contrasts your other lines. If you fish for winter steelhead a lot, or you live in BC then this might be the rod for you. The 8wt has the power to turn some big fish and turn over the heaviest sink tips and the biggest flies that are often used in the winter. If you also see yourself wanting to fish for salmon but have one rod that you can fish for steelhead all year with, and a rod that you can fish for salmon. Then the 8130 would be an excellent choice.
