The Echo Ion Fly Reel features a hybrid design of cast aluminum that is then machined to provide the benefits of a machined bar stock reel without the high price associated with fully-machined reels. Echo die cast reels, like the Ion, also feature an impact-resistant matte black finish to provide a sharp-looking, long-lasting piece of fly fishing equipment. Available in four sizes to fit just about any fly rod, this reel is ideal for both single and double-handed versions. However, since the Ion Reel from Echo has stainless steel internal components, we suggest using it for freshwater environments instead of saltwater which could cause corrosion.
