Now pushing four scores and 11 years, Dr. Elpidio I. Valencia has had deep-seated ties to his roots in Malolos. Dr. Valencia has assiduously reconstructed his personal milestones, overcoming thereby the sad physical loss of his intellectual works and mementoes that all went up in smoke in a fire that nearly snuffed out his life and totally razed the almost century-old ancestral home where he and his siblings grew up. Married to a member of the Osmeña political clan, Dr. Valencia has had a relatively modest profile in the charming, if turbulent world of politics. Dr. Valencia will best be remembered for his work for others, thus fittingly and faithfully responding to the age-old call that to whom much is given, much is demanded. Leonides C. Valencia
