The Eclipse 500 is a very light jet (VLJ) known for its fuel efficiency and affordability, particularly in the pre-owned market. It was initially produced by Eclipse Aviation and later by One Aviation, and is designed for short to medium range flights with a capacity for up to six passengers. A total of 260 Eclipse 500 aircraft were built by Eclipse Aviation between 2006 and 2008. This production run ended due to financial difficulties and the company ultimately filing for bankruptcy.
