Insert the valve completely flat. On a 16" wheel the tube has very little slack — starting without air is more important than on larger wheels. Seat the adapter before the tube. Push the valve through the valve hole and thread the adapter on from outside the rim before tucking the tube in. No tire levers on the second bead. The Brompton tyre bead is tight — mount the second bead by hand, working around the wheel in stages. Soft-inflate to 0.3 bar (5 psi), check the tube is sitting evenly, then inflate in 1 bar (14 psi) steps to riding pressure.
