Each size was designed to fit well in the hand with the appropriate length and balance to make it easy to scatter. Below find a simplified guide to help you choose the right size:Large – Designed to hold all of the ashes of a loved one (or less if desired) (approx. 3.6L.). This is the right choice if you would like to scatter all or most of the ashes. Medium – Designed to hold approximately 1/2 of the ashes of a loved one (approx. 1.6L). This is a good choice if you are splitting the ashes in two among family or friends or if you would just like to scatter a portion of the ashes. Small – Designed to hold about 1/4 of the ashes of a loved one (approx. .82L). This is a good choice if you are splitting the ashes among multiple family members or friends, or if you would just like to scatter a portion of the ashes.
