The Economy Class is a magnetic slider designed by ZacLab that combines industrial materials, visible mechanics, and an unusually satisfying tactile experience. The most recognizab le feature is the transparent PEI body, which has an amber-like appearance that allows users to see the mechanism working inside. Through the viewing window, the internal Buckyballs can be seen bouncing along the track with every push, creating a visual element that is rarely found in magnetic sliders. Rather than producing the muted clicks common to many fidgets, the Economy Class generates a loud crackling sound as the Buckyballs travel through the track. The result is a distinctive sound profile that has become one of the slider's defining characteristics. The combination of bouncing magnets, tactile feedback, and visible movement creates an experience that feels very different from traditional magnetic sliders. The slider is constructed from 29 individual components and utilizes five different materials, including PEI, stainless steel, brass, polycarbonate, and POM. Brass and stainless steel accents contrast against the translucent body, giving the piece a mix of industrial and natural aesthetics. Users can also swap the Buckyballs for N52 magnets, transforming the Economy Class into a more traditional magnetic slider and providing two distinct operating modes. Different Buckyball strengths can further alter the sound and tactile feedback, allowing users to customize the experience to their preference. One thing to note is that, like many Buckyball-based sliders, regular use will gradually leave residue on the track. Periodic cleaning is recommended to maintain optimal performance.
