A classical model study in charcoal by the eponymous Swedish artist, Eddie Figge. Eddie Figge (1904 - 2003) came to art later in life, after a career in Stockholm during the 1930s as a primadonna ballerina and actress. She studied art at Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris (1939) and later at Otte Skölds Målarskola in Stockholm (1939–1942). Her art is often referenced together with the modernist movement of Arte Informale. A branch that grew out of abstract expressionism during the post war period. Eddie debuted as an artist in 1950, after being awarded the critics choice by Ulf Linde for the Swedish National Association for the Performing Arts.
